The Girls Go Shopping

Yesterday Mary and I went on a shopping spree. It was justified by needing "wedding-wear" for cousin Corry's nuptials at the end of the month. We went to the "big city" as Mary called it, otherwise known as Concord NH. In a moment of weakness, I let Mary get her ears pierced. She has been bugging me for some time, and yesterday I shocked her by saying yes.

On the way home she mentioned future piercings, to which I replied, "I don't THINK so!" I followed up with a casual mention that one of my ears has 2 piercings. She was totally surprised (I don't wear earrings very often), which again shows me that she thinks I'm a very boring mom. What's up with that? After all, I was looking at the Social Distortion t-shirts as a Father's Day present for Cranky, but since they were only in youth sizes, she got one instead! (Interesting side note: We had been listening to Social D all afternoon.)

Today I'm off to Home Depot with Bob. (Heidi, do you like his shirt?)

I am a borning mom with no pierced ears. My oldest daughter has hers done, I doubt my tom-boy youngest with ever get hers done.

I like Bob's shirt. My husband is a John Deere man (which was hard for me cuz I grew up with red internationals!).

YOU KNOW I LOVE HIS SHIRT!

I dig your kids too, they're awesome!

Mary should hang with other people's Moms for a while and then do a little comparison. She looks like a very well adjusted kid; you should see some of the kids in our school! They're 12 and trying to be 18!

I think it's really funny that they have those shirts in youth sizes.

He reminds me so much of my boy at that age! So cute!!!!

Have a nice smooth trip and I'd love to see some pix! I wonder how many motorcycles will be hiding out in your garage when you get back. I had no idea Hondas were so fertile!

"Moms" are always "boring" didn't you know its in the job description? It is beside the fact that you fly jets, graduated from the Academy, wore combat boots etc.. Moms are boring *L*

I'd much prefer a mom who was reluctant to pierce ears but didn't have a problem with Social D over someone who preferred the exact opposite.

I'd much rather my kids had a boring mom.

Bob's just about the cutest thing ever. I love the toy tool bench in the background, too.

Encourage over body peircing. Then when they grow up & realise that it was a huge mistake they can take them out. And they heal up.

Save the fight for the tatoo's.
